I have attended this school since 1st grade and i love the teachers. they really make sure that you understand what your learning especially Mrs. Smith. The staff is great and the principal is loving and caring. The school gives great oppurtunities and if your child is interested in participating in them then they have a chance.they also reward hard working children. i love my school!

I thought the school was very interesting, but during the years there were a lot of fights....also a lot of new middle school teachers have come.... I have been there since 6th grade and every year there are new teachers..... The staff gives an impression like they dont care and and only SOME of the teachers seem like they care and actually try to help the student pass the class..... Overall the school is satisfactory in my opinion. ^-^

My daughter has attended since 6th grade (she left a review as well). There has been a very high turn over in the principal's office in the past two years. Teacher quality is a crap-shoot. Last year was the worst with no communication regarding classroom performance whatsoever which led to her attending summer school for the first time. This year is much better with teachers emailing frequently. My daughter's English teacher this year is very focused on SAT and High School prep work. Miss Tate is helpful when you can reach her yourself. Miss Becker is always available and very helpful - but is not a miracle worker. Art and Music classes are plentiful, but repetitious and remedial. The proximity to USC does not offer any benefit to Middle School students and is a safety

i Love this school! I have been at this school since i was in the seventh grade. I currently go to USC MAST high school and it is a very good school!

As a parent, I like the interaction of students as in a family: K to 12 grade. The youngest play with the older students and they know each other. Most interesting, students know who's parent is walking in the playground! However they need more classrooms for the high school.

Sue Becker is the greatest. She is very caring and goes above and beyond to make 32nd Street great!

My children were given the opportunity to attend 32nd Street USC in Sept 2003. Our decision (husband)for them to attend were based upon academic performance, API scoring and word of mouth from many parents. However I must say we have been very disappointed with the many turn-over of teachers, very little staff involvement, overwhelming elementary assignments, and the lack of middle school assignments. The API scoring has dropped dramatically. I must say in the beginning we were very pleased with this hiddent diamond. However I'm wondering if University of So. Cal (USC) is now embarrassed that this school bears its name. Mr. T the new principal has his work cut out for him. I pray things will turn around

I have not seen any academic improvement. To much tension throughout all staff. Its in great need of improvement in all educational & extracurricular activities. Its seems we are losing a lot of quality teachers in the past years. I hope to see some improvement with new principal. Much more parent involvement needed. My sons seems not to be challenge enough. More security throughout school. I have never come across in gang activity. Textbooks are need in class to avoid youth carrying them on a daily basis.

Academically, this school was highly disappointing. I almost literally learned nothing during my time there. This school does not prepare students for high school, let alone college. Its writing and math programs are weak. There are hardly any extracurricular activities to partake in.

The academic program here will not prepare your child for college. It is weak and the environment is not intense. The the teachers do not challenge the students. The teachers don't really care how students are progressing. There is no SAT preparation. Just look at the API index and average SAT score. If you want your child to sit back and relax send him/her here!

I'm so disappointed with 32nd St. School. I thought that being a performing arts magnet there would be more offered by the school. If I would've known that this school graded so poorly for a performing arts school, I would've chosen another school. The teachers for the most part are not really interested in more than just getting by. There is no enthusiasm for the performing arts compared to other schools of the arts. Highly, highly disappointed!

One of my son's teachers was fine, but overall they are very mixed in quality. The school has poor facilities, and the main office seems totally uninterested. My attempts to discuss problems with administrators--first the vice principal, then the principal--have yielded no results whatsoever.

This schools is a good school. The size of it provides a safe enviornment for the students. The small number of students allow for a greater understanding from the teachers. It's like on big family. I Like it. Eeryone knows everyone and that allows for a close knitgroup. The principal is down to earth and loves her 'babies' as she calls us. The teachers are helpful overall, and sometimes give challenging projects. The only problem with this school is we don't have a gym, or a field, or a decent auditorium, or a lab. We need those things.

The school has it's advantages and disadvantages. Being that the school is so small, it's lots that they are unable to offer. The test scores for the school are lower than desired, compared to state averages. As I said previously, it has it advantages and some neat things that go on there, but overall I'm not sure that 'magnet' schools like this one are necessary a benefit.

32nd street is a wonderful school. The school is very culturely diverse, which gives the children an opportunity to get to know people from many different backrounds. Dr. Gerr the principle, is an remarkable lady who has done wonderful job with the school. The whole 32nd street staff is great, they have created a safe, comfortable, learning enviornment for our children. If your child has the opportunity to go to 32nd street,I would highly recommend you don't pass it by.
