Tom Bradley Environmental Science and Humanities Charter School Reviews

The principal is a gem. The teachers and staff are great. My child learned alot while going here from 1st to 5th grade. Great school.

Tom Bradley used to be a good school years ago but has gone down significantly. The principal talks a good talk but stays within her office and does not really know what goes on in classrooms. The last 2 vice principals stayed completed the school year but did not return. The school rating is a 3 - this is supposed to be a magnet - college bound as the principal always says. The kids are unruly, the teachers have no discipline over the kids. Kids running around the class, hitting a teacher in the head with a rock, parents who are supposed to help out are yelling at the kids. Wake up parents - go and sit in on your child's class and observe for yourself.

Dr. Shepherd has a open door policy to all students, parents, and staff. Please do not slay the messager, discipline and respect comes from home. A school is as strong as the parent support. Attending parent conferences and taking time to identify my child's weakness, with help from trhe teacher, made my child's educational goals a reality. Parents involve yourself in your child's education. This school has dedicated and exceptional teachers that care for the students. This school has the ability to become a top rated school.

This school is one of the worse in the los angeles school district. As a very concerned and scared parent I suggest the staff as a whole be fired. These children are not in the hands of people that should be qualified to educate our children on any level. I feel that the teachers are only there for a paycheck and not our children. The staff can be very rude especially when dealing with our children. I have witnessed faculty members mistreat, disrespect, degrade, and more importantly lower the self esteem of our children. Parents this is not fair. Listen to your children!!! Its bad enough our children are falling behind academically and then we have our teachers giving up on our children because they dont get paid enough what kind of b.s. is that. The principle should be a shame of herself but how can she when all she doesisnothing!!!!!!!!!!!!

this schools is a distinguished and well be-haved school and their test scores are INCREDIBLE!! Bradley's student are well -mannerd and behaving children they are one of the very few schools with well respecting children, except like all schools they arent perfect be cause the students will get out of hand and its not always there fault sometimes teachers are responsible for partial of the conflict like any other school. It still is a VERY good school and you should check it out!!

I have to be honest, I am not happy with the results. I appreciate the efforts of the staff and faculty. Compared to the surrounding schools I wouldn't have my son anywhere else however for a Charter School it still appears to be burdened with the same issues of inner city schools. Not enough money, over crowded classrooms and burned out teachers. Society has changed, our children are different but the system is still the same. There are not enough extra curricular programs and the Teachers need to update their skills when it comes to children with behavioral issues. I have it from the horses mouth regarding parent participation and it's not good. Most of us are single parents and live in the area, which by the way is the hood so who are we fooling. We need more participation from the parents, the teachers need more help, i.e. aids etc..

I was not happy with my child's experience at Tom Bradley. My child's teacher was inadequate to and unable fully engage the students in a learning environment.

I think the learning/teaching is great at Tom Bradley

I am very satisfied with the academic programs Bradley has to offer. The extracurricular activities are limited but okay. The level of parent involvement is very high in my opinion.

My two boys are enrolled in this school. Ever since their gardes have gone up and their attitudes have improved.. The teachers and staff are wonderful and helpful. The principle Dr. Sheperd is caring and understanding. She takes the time to hear out allover our concerns as well as the kids that attend Tom Bradley Elementary... Two thumbs up!!!!!

I graduated from this school in 1971, and although I have degrees from two Ivy League schools (Dartmouth & Harvard) and one of the top boarding schools in the nation, I still rank my experience at 39th Street/Dublin Ave./Tom Bradley Elementary School as the best!

All 5 of my children attended this school (42,37,36,33,31)& their kids, now their grandkids are going there as well. This school has always focused on teaching & bringing out the best in their students. Keep up the good work!
