Chatsworth Senior High School Reviews

Great school to get prepared for college bound students and great athletics as well.

It was pretty good, I guess for a los angeles high school. I just can't believe how things have changed.

I have had two children, one grandchild and two nieces graduate from Chatsworth High. It is a great school that has withstood the test of time. There are so many opportunities for kids to oursue their dreams and so many adults on campus ti help them.

This is a great school. My 14 year old boy is thriving. Chatsworth has one of the best baseball programs in the U.S. He is learning not only the required academics but also life skills like self-discipline, teamwork, respect of authority, tenacity, and and how to succeed under pressure. These skills he will take with him for life. Thank you Coach Tom and all the other great teachers at Chatsworth!

I love this school, and my child is doing great. He has high grades and the teacher's love him, and spend much time on his grades and helping him improve.

I m disappointed at the negative comments concerning Chatsworth High School from parents who have struggling teens/students. Im currently a junior and have had a great time at Chatsworth due to the many opportunities that it provides. With this said, the parents who blame Chatsworth for their child s mishaps seem to lack solid evidence. By directly blaming the school, these parents not only embarrass themselves but the teachers, staff, and other parents who work for the benefits of each student. To these parents I have this message, It is not the fault of the school (and those who ve worked really hard to keep it running) but the fault of the parent or child who has no concern for the well-being of a free education and lack a sense of self-discipline.

My tenth grader is struggling. This our home school not happy at all, hard to get her into another close high school. Please visit this school before you decide to invest 4 years of your childs life.

Great School. Caring Teachers. Nice, new principal. Diverse student body. Tons of opportunities for academic enrichment as well as extra curricular activies. Great sports, great cheer, great music, great drama, great news.

My son is a junior and this is his first year at chatsworth high. Im concerned because he is struggling in two of his major classes and Im finding that there isnt enough tutoring and help from the staff. Its still early in the year so I will return to update my rating once my son finishes the first semester.

My son graduated by the skin of his teeth. Before going to Chatsworth, he was a 4.0 student. In my opinion, the teachers did not demand the most of their students. I could not help my son with his classes and I found out too late that he wasn't turning his assignments. When I did hear from one of his teachers, it was too late in the sememster/year to get him help. I would have to wait until I received his report card to find out if he was attending class or was late to class. No one from the school would call. I was not happy with his Chatsworth High School experience.

Great school, it's been a pleasure having my children have the opportunity to go here.

Chatsworth has become much more academic since Dr. Davis came to Chatsworth, he's only been here a couple of years and I can already see and tell a positive difference there... They have some great programs there now, an excellent A.P. program, and of course, an amazing baseball team and pretty much all sports. They also have a terrific Science department and some very good people that work there. This is a real good school.

A lot of the teachers are burned out. There are some teachers there who still care about the education of their students (Humanitas dept. is wonderful).

The kids don't care the teachers care even less. Kids are in class with cell phones on and Ipods on. The principle Jeff Davis only cares about the sports. My words to those starting high school do not choose chatsworth high. When you go for the orination it sounds so good but its not. It was a huge mistake cost my son a year.

My daughter has been going to Chatsworth for 2 years. Academics are ok. extracurricular activities are good. Parent involvement seems pretty good. Counselors can be more helpful. It seems it is difficult to get her tutoring or other assistance. (my experience)

My son has 6 classes and in the past and even now when I have tried contacting his teachers, only 1-2 return my calls and emails. It's really discouraging when a parent is trying to help their child succeed, but only 1 or 2 teachers respond. I also don't like the fact that the only time I hear about my son's truancy and tardiness is when I receive the report card. My son is doing terrible at Chatsworth and it seems that I have to chase to try and help with his academic progress. It doesn't appear that the teachers step up when a child is in trouble-they just continue to fail. It's hard working and running back/forth to the school and chasing teachers to help you with your child.

High level of school spirit. Somewhat variety of extracurricular activities. Well-rounded staff and school counselors.

When we moved to Chatsworth about 16 years ago, we thought that the school system here was better because it was a more rural area. Both of my children have attended Chatsworth High and I truly beleive that it is overcrowded. I don't think that this school rates very well with only a handfull of good teachers, again overcrowding-bussing must be put to an end. Chatsworth has a growing population and perhaps the end of bussing would help with the quality of education here, but I am not so sure about that either. The sports program is ok.

I was an exchange student in Chatsworth in the graduating class of 2004 and even if at first I didn't find the school very nice, I finally got to meet a lot of friends and the staff was so friendly with me. I don't know if it's because I couldn't really speak english at the time but in the beginning people weren't talking to me. I got to learn how to play the saxophone and it was really nice because in Belgium it's impossible to have all those elective classes. I must say I was very interested in the US school system and I think it is a very good idea. In belgium, we don't have that much money for a High School and there are less students, but also less nationalities. It's great to get to meet a lot of different people. At my time, there was about 3,500 students!

Overcrowded, underfunded and poor leadership from the adminstration. Good baseball team, though.

My son graduated Chatsworth last year (class of 2002), and I have to honestly say that I was more than just satisfied with the school helping my son create the path for his future. We came to the U.S in the 1980s to escape war in our country, and also to find the education for my children that I thought would make a better life for them, and Chatsworth did just that. Its teachers kept me up to date on class and school events concerning my son, and showed me how I can be more involved in improving my sons education. I would recommend this school to parents ready to send their kids to high school.
