Fantastic school, a California Distinguished School in the running for top SAT scores in the State of California.

Outstanding school. A California Distinguished School as well. Congratulations! Well deserved honor.

This is the most horrible school ever! very bad, my child is doing very poorly. And the teachers dont pay attention to her.

My daughter was enrolled in a local private school for her freshman year and we ran into many complications. It got so bad, I had to pull her out and I placed her at Burroughs. We couldn't be happier! The staff is wonderful and they help her stay on track while maintaining a 3.8 GPA while being involved in extracurricular activities and sports. My daughter has made many friends and so have I. We couldn't be happier!

I am extremely proud to teach at JBHS. Our administration is supportive, we have outstanding teachers that go above and beyond and our school feels like 'home'. We are a very large family.

I was really impressed by Burroughs ability to make their school seem like a community in itself, the Principal and all the staff are so involved, and their pride in the school is easily seen

With all the school shootings going on in the rest of the country I was a little concerned, but I spoke to the Assistant Principal. They have all sorts of stuff in place to keep the kids safe. They really care about the kids. It feels like a family!

academics are limited, good environment, very safe student body.

Great School, although like other schools there are some great teachers and other who shouldn't be teaching. Great choir program.

Great school...Good teachers great people

The school provides excellent guidance services by making sure that every student sees their counselor and completes an academic plan. Dedicated and driven administration. Principal definitely walks his talk.

I've been very happy with the education my son has gotten at Burroughs thus far.

I can not say enough about the positive experience my son has had at this school. He is challenged academically in his honors classes and in the advanced placement class he is attending. He is in the chamber choir which has been an incredible experience for him as well. His self esteem and confidence has soared as his ability to perform in front of a mass of people has developed. He is so happy attending this school. He makes all A's and is already planning for college. This school and the parents invest in the students.

This school has a great mathematics system.

a relatively good school, but when i complained to the principal about some clearly biased and inappropriate political 'education' going on in a tenth grade world history class, the response was underwhelming, to say the least.

Well I'm not a parent but I'm currently a sophmore (9/18/03) and i have to say that Burroughs High is one the best around. Sure there is tons of construction going on but just wait until second semester and everything will open. To those kids who complain about being tardy, try not to stop and talk to your friends during passing period, or try going around the crowd, all the buildings have multiple exits/entrances and stairways for accessablity. Also, the teachers are very good at this school, but like all groups, there are always a few bad teachers here and there. Compared to middle school, my average GPA has raised from a 3.3 to a 3.8

There is so much construction going on in the school that there isnt even room for anyone to sit. My child has been tardy many times because of crowded halls, they need to improve on their construction.

Burroughs turned out to be a better school than I'd expected. My son, in 9th grade, has been able to maintain a B average throughout his first year at Burroughs, due in part to his counselor, Mrs. Smith, who has stayed on top of his progress and been easily contacted when needed. Parents do need to stay on top of their students and the teachers though to keep abreast of what's going on on a daily basis...but that's true with any school these days.
