Mayfair High School Reviews

My son is a senior this year and he loves the school. The online system to check on my child's homework and grades is great!

Mayfair has given me many opportunities, from art academy to the varsity softball program. The teachers at Mayfair truely care about you as an individual, and try to help you as much as possible. There is so much diversity, and so many new things we are able to learn from each other. Mayfair is just an amazing place for a little seventh grader to grow maturely into a twelfth grader, ready to take on the world. Once a Monzoon, always a Monsoon.

The staff, the sports program, the gorunds, far exceed the schools in this area.

My 2 daughters and I graduated from Mayfair. We have supported our school and the community in many aspects over the years. We wish the best for the students, staff and campus...GO MONSOONS!

I am currently a 10th grade student at Mayfair High School, and I have got to say, I seriously love this school. First off, it is a small campus, which results in less students and smaller class sizes. I have about 20 other classmates in my classes, other than me. This, in effect, makes me even happier because everyone knows everyone, and it is just a happy environment with a group of students who actually want to be there. Second, the academics are amazing, and are supported by reward clubs, numerous ones, that fit your academic style. The clubs too!!! I love them! Because at Mayfair, it really is all about school pride, the students, and the teachers and staff. The teachers have numerous learning experiences, most of which actually explored the world before teaching! Remember : Go Monsoons!

There are lots of extracurricular activities that this school has to offer. For example, there are tons of clubs you can join such as the Key Club, WAR, Latino Club, Eastern Horizon, etc. There are also a lot of sports you can take part of like football, soccer, color guarding, cheerleading, and many more. Don't worry, Mayfair is not just fun and sports, it also has some top-notch academics. If you are enrolled in a sport, you have to maintain a high GPA (3.0 I believe). There are also honor classes as well as AP classes. I am currently in Honors Algebra 2, Academy (an organization for the elite students) English, AP (Advanced Proficient) Human Geography, Web Page HTML, and Honor Biology. The homework can be excessive in Honors and AP classes, but they are really preparing you for college. Even in regular classes, there are very high standards.

Both of my daughters attend Mayfair and I am very pleased with both the middle and high school. The faculty and staff are friendly and readily available. My children are very happy and are doing well.

Mayfair has give me a bad view of them from the first i enrolled my daughter there, the staff were very sarcastic and rude. Some of the teachers are not very parent or student friendly.

This is an excellent school. I'm a mom of one of Mayfair's students. My daughter's performance shows that she is in the right school with the right teachers/mentors at the right time.

This schools administration is not good at all. It changes about every year or two.

As a former student of Mayfair, c/o 2003, I have to say that Mayfair is an excellent school. Overall, most teachers are attentive to the students needs and go above and beyond the call of duty. The coaches are also teach regular academic classes and they are usually the ones to enforce the code of conduct, maintaining a certian GPA. The 6 years spent at Mayfair provided me with the skilld to enter into college. I know upon starting college that if I had a question ot didnt understand material I was to ask for the help. I knew the study habits that were required to achieve my goals in college thanks to the wonderful teachers I had at Mayfair who continue to push students past what others say they are capable of. Mayfairs councelors are also great when tackling all issues from personal preblems to academic problems.

Mayfair is very good about letting parents be involved. I love that before the kids even started school they had 2 major meetings for parents to be involved with. one was the parent meeting. They give you all the ins & out of how to be informed. Then there's Blue Pride Day for early registration. They get everything out of the way so when school starts, school starts. all paperwork is turned in, planners are purchased along with the P.E. clothes and temporary schedules are received. The teachers reply to the e-mails parents send them. My son is having a great first quarter there. Both academics and Athletics are encouraged. I love that since my son is a student athlete. The personnel is very helpful for when us new parents are lost on how to go about things. I think we will love our next 5 years there. Go monsoons!

Mayfair's music department is excellent. The marching band and vocal opportunities are absolutely outstanding. The level of parent involvement is great if you are in the music department, and/or on the basketball or football teams. Aside from those area, it's limited, but available through the PTA. Overall, I'd say that the academic programs are average, as evident from the standardized exam testing scores. I think Mayfair could use some improvement in this critically important area, especially for the college bound students.

The teachers are great. But, with the mix of High School and Jr. High School students have us concerned. Though they keep them seperate, my daughter has had some minor problems.

It has been a pleasure to have my child Mayfair High School (c/o 2007). - excellent parent/teacher communication. - large number of academic classes for all levels - music program is one of the best in the area. - extremely high parent support and involvement in sports, art and music progams

Mayfair offers an excellent academic program for the highly motivated student. I have two children at Mayfair and both are predominantly in honors and AP classes. I have found their teachers to be highly competent, dedicated and challenging. My biggest concern has been that the homework load is sometimes (even often) excessive, to the point of being anti-productive. Life is filled with choices, but a well-disciplined 14 year old should not have to choose bewteen an honors class, a balanced social life, an extra curricular activity and sleep. There are ample extra curricular opportunities offered and those my children have been involved are well run. The principal has the respect of the staff and students and runs a tight ship. There are a few weak links in the staff and parental involvment is necessary to insure your student receives the best the school has to offer.

My daughter attends Mayfair and will graduate this year. I think this is one of the best schools around today. The teachers, and the counselors are great.

We have two sons in this school. One in high School and one in middle School. We are very pleased with this school. The principal is one of the best in the state and he has a great staff working with him. He supports extra curricular activites, but NOT at the expense of learning. This is a California Distinguished School.
