Beverly Vista School Reviews

My children are on permit and come from another district. I found BV to be very accepting of my kids and the teachers are very involved. When my daughter was having a hard time her teachers did everything to help her and now shes doing great. Thank you BV teachers.

BV provides a great education and the teachers are attentive and take a real interest in the success of their students.

Wow. I just graduated from 8th grade and everyone was in tears when it was all over because it was such an amazing school. All the teachers are so caring. The stuff they teach may be difficult but they do the best they can to prepare us for what is ahead. The campus is great and everyone is a huge family. The activities that you get to participate in during school are loads of fun. For example the 8th grade goes to Yosemite for a week. All in all BV is an amazing school and all the tears on graduation night was worth it.

This was my child's first year at BV. It was very hard for her to meet people because it is very cliquey (all the kids seem to know each other from the synogague). And all of the parents seem to be 'in the know' with the teachers and administration. The administration does not reach out well to new families and students and has very poor communication with parents. One day the school let students out one hour early without sending home any notification at all to the parents. The school cares very little about the safety and supervision of its students after school lets out. Wish I didn't waste the money on the Beverly Hills house and saved the money for a more caring private school (with more diversity).

New leadership this year (the former Vice Principal is now Principal), and all is well. BV is a fabulous school, the teachers are caring, informed, diligent and fair. My child, a high-achieving yet very busy male 5th grader, is extremely happy. He also loved 4th grade, his teacher was superb!

This is a fantastic school. It is full of children from the neighborhood, wonderful families and caring teachers. We are so fortunate to send our children to B.V.

Bad teachers, especially middle school. Teachers yell and humiliate students in the presence of other students and treat parents with no respect. My child is miserable and is begging me to change schools. Classes in middle school are huge, and your child has no interaction with the teacher unless it is to be yelled at. If you have a child over 9 years old, choose a different school.

Academics: Great, teachers definately know the subjects. Electives supply many music, art, and sports activities. Great PTA at the school.

HIgh level academic programs. Music band, ceramics, art classes and PE are available. Once a month possibility talk to the teachers. Pretty low parents involvent.

Great school. My kids love it and the staff is wonderful!

This school is a great school to send your kids to.

Wow. This school is great to put your children in, for kindergarten or even eighth grade. Excellent social scene and great academics!

This school is in a great neighborhood and it is a great school for ages ranging from 5 to 14 years old.

Absolutely wonderful school. Great management, great families. Teachers in some grades are a little suspect. If you get the right teacher it's A+.

I take offense at how one commenter (see 'August, 2003' feedback) semantically-misunderstood a parent s use of the word 'afraid', erroroneously misconstruing it, calling it 'pathetic . I believe that parent meant afraid as a positive compliment. Purely as a figure of speech, the principal is respected, the kids are afraid: afraid to incur her disapproval because she's stern yet gentle, firm yet caring. She promotes personal growth, self-discipline, hard work, self-reliance and responsibility.

How pathetic that parents and students being afraid or the principal is considered a sign of respect!

I have two children at Beverly Vista. One in 2nd and one in 3rd. I couldn't be happier. The principal runs a tight ship. The parents seem to like it and the students and teachers respect (are afraid of) her. There is a lot of parent envolvement. I, myself being one of them. I have met a lot of great people and my children have made a lot of nice friends. My family's experience has been very positive so far.
