Highland Oaks Elementary School Reviews

Outstanding commitment to students.

After being a parent at Highland Oaks for 2 years, I have been most impressed with the real partnership between the parents, teachers and administration. There is a strong tradition of parent participation in arts instruction, reading programs and fundraising. The students are highly motivated and the teachers offer them plenty of opportunities to challenge themselves. Well worth the move into the area.

Overall a good school. Qualities of the teachers vary. A very good music program and an interesting way to do art programs (taught solely by parent volunteers). Strong PTA. Strong parental supports. Good principal leadership.

Best learning enviornment for your child - although quite competitive

This is a very high quality school compared to other public elementary schools in southern california. The teachers are open and easy to reach. The PTA is also very active within the school. There is a large playground for the children with an area specially designated for kindergarten play. There are also many opportunities for brighter students to move to more advanced levels. This is a well-rounded good school for any child.

Excellent school offering a well-rounded education for children. Parent involvement is welcomed greatly.

Highland Oaks consistently achieves among the highest scores in the state. Scores can be attributed to its principal, teachers, and parents all working together to provide a well-rounded education. What pushes this school over the top is its commitment to various parent (PTA) run programs. For example, Highland Oaks has a phenomenal music program 100% financially supported by parent donations and an art program run 100% by parent volunteers. So if you're considering this school, you must be willing to donate volunteer time and money. If you're unable to commit to this, then this school is not for you. If you can commit to this, then it will be a superior educational experience for you and your child.
