Montessori Childrens House Reviews

Having to disagree with the last post, we have had a wonderful experience at this school. My son started at the age of 3 years old. From the beginning, the teachers were great. They were able to handle all types of situations with the children. Yes, one room is larger but the kids were so involved you didn't realize it. Also, this school does not have toddlers so there must be some mistake.

Having used the other reviews in out initial decision to send our toddler to this school, it was with surprise and great disappointment that we found our child's class to be a dismal and lifeless place. In our numerous visits to the class at various times, we consistently observed the children to be laconic. . . forced to sit at tables with little to stimulate their little minds. Our child, who has had more than a year and a half of very positive day care experiences before this, clung to us and cried ceaselessly when we would try to drop him off here. This was not helped by their hard-nosed enforcement of 'short goodbyes' that did not allow us to help him integrate into the new school. High student to teacher ratio and what seemed like inexperienced and untrained assistants did not help the situation.

My child attends pre-school at MCH and we (and she) absolutely love it. The curriculum is fun and fascinating so that the children are always introduced to new concepts and ideas. Most importantly, children are taught important social skills. The staff is wonderful and I would highly recommend this school.

My daughter has attended this pre-school program for 2 years and we are thrilled. The kindness and quality of care is wonderful, and the breadth of after school programs and academic coverage is surprising for pre-k. The program has taught her to love learning everything from Spanish to 'mother nature' trivia, and she looks forward to going to school everyday. The friendships she has made are special, and we are seriously considering leaving her there for kindergarten, even though our local public elementary school (Lowell) is supposed to be a good one.

I am a teacher in the Long Beach Unified School District and I am currently sending my child to this wonderful school. The children are engaged in activities which include academics, social, manners, and structure. I highly recommend this school to anyone. Wonderful teachers, adorable and safe atmosphere! I know my child is in good hands. They also include nap time. :)
