Ivy Bound Academy of Math, Science, and Technology Charter Middle Reviews

My daughter just loves learning. She is finally being challenged in the classroom!

My son just completed his second year at IBA. The experience has been great. The Principal, Office Staff, Faculty, and Parents are all great with an emphasis from all on the kids getting the best education and school experience possible. The after school homework club has been fantastic with my son able to complete most of his homework at school. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a smaller, more personal school in the Sherman Oaks area.

School challenges my son to study harder to maintain good grades while he breezed through elementary school. He gets to practice math at home on the computer through a program the school offers. I think kids are more disciplined, confident and they are not just passed on to the next level because they have to be (No Child Left Behind, etc) because of the small school environment. Teachers know who their students are and how they are doing academically. I love that they offer PE and Art and at times they have offerings of music after school as well as Spanish. Kids may stay after school to join the Homework Club and get some more guidance to do their homework. I am very happy with our school and it would even be better with even more parental involvement.

This is our second year at IBA. My son has really thrived in the culture created at this school. The teachers and staff know him beyond just his name. They care about him as a holistic individual. They want to see him grow into a well-rounded individual. The homework load is manageable. There's a homework club available after school where students can stay and get help from the teachers so mom and dad don't look so clueless to their kids! We get half day on Fridays, which works great for our weekend get-aways! The kids have computer class as well as computer assisted math, plus all the usual core classes. We even have Art and PE classes EVERYDAY! If you're looking for a safe middle school that challenges your child academically, then IBA is the place for you!

This is my daughter s second year and we couldn t be happier. We felt that public schools didn t offer a safe environment, although Sherman Oaks is a nice, quiet neighborhood, and that school was more of a childcare center rather than a place of enrichment. We chose Ivy Bound and got more than we bargained for! The staff is dedicated, the curriculum exciting and the school is highly technological (email/PowerSchool/web/equipment). Special compliments to the principal, who s doing a tremendous job on a low budget. You see him and the staff everywhere; they know their kids and are very involved. Homework can be somewhat challenging for children coming from public schools. The level and amount are quite high but they get used to it. Our daughter finally learns something at school. She s happy and so are we. Thumbs up to an excellent tiny little school that made a difference so quickly!

We were very lucky to have found Ivy Bound Academy. Our daughter was coming off of her first year of middle school and had been bullied a lot. Ivy Bound is not only an extremely safe school, but it has a loving and caring environment for their students. They go a step further than most schools to actually know and care for the students. They have an extremely challenging curriculum that also includes Art, Computers, and PE as well as the core subjects. It's smaller than most schools which helps the students learn better. I highly recommend this school.

A warm 'private school' environment. Faculty and staff that care about their students, personally and accademically. My child is extremely motivated and challanged by the curriculum.

If you have a child that is bored with the standard public school curriculum, wants to be challenged and not get lost in the crowd, enjoys hands on science, Art, PE and computer lab daily, excellerated math and an opportunity to learn in a technologically charged environment...this is the school for you. Come check it out! We did and our son could not be happier!

My daughter has just begun her first year at Ivy Bound Academy and already has grown by leaps and bounds. My daughter had never been challenged in a school environment as she was never identified as 'gifted' and is not a behavior problem. As a result, her school experience has been rather lackluster and boring. But now at IBA she seems to really enjoy learning. She has fit right in and blossomed under the guidance from her teachers and the leadership of Mr. Arazani. I can't say enough about the school and their enthusaism and passion for creating learners! As a new school, we still are learning and growing, but the future is bright and I feel so lucky that we are a part of it! As someone noted earlier, our kids receive computer classes, art and pe EVERY day...as part of the daily curriculum. What a gift to our kids!
